R1 pick David Bailey, Edge Texas Tech

R2 pick Caleb Lomu OT, Utah

I'd be super happy with this

  1. Would be very happy with Reese, Bailey, or Styles at 3. Then OT in Rd 2. Or trade back from 3 and take Mauigoa or Fano mid 1st.

  2. This feels like a more solid draft (in the original post), but I think there is a fairly good chance they trade back into the 1st and take Simpson

  3. I would be very happy with this.

I would not be happy with Reese or Styles at #3

IMO it’s Bailey, Bane, DeLane…or trade back.

evern though we have spent a lot of capital on CBs…we don’t have an elite shut down guy. Mansoor DeLane is very very good and might end up being an all pro

  4. This is exactly what I’ve been hoping for and saying they should do. Everyone saying take a tackle at 3 is leaving so much value on the table.

  5. Listen I’m not hating, I just want to make the case…

I don’t think David Bailey is worthy of the 3rd overall pick. He has 1 move, which albeit, is a very solid spin move, but other than that his upside is weak. Bailey lacks power, he gets absolutely mauled when he can’t win with speed and is shockingly stiff especially when you compare his bend to his teammate on the opposite end, Romello Height (who I think will end up having a better career than Bailey). He’s also notoriously a terrible run defender (so much for those physical traits and speed!) whereas players like Bain and Reese are awesome!

It’s not the end of the world to pick Bailey at 3 but I think we’d be leaving a lot on the table, (Bain/Reese) in favor of a one trick pony with nice physical traits.

  6. Honestly not bad but I’m growing on the route of them getting Mauigoa and then the Cardinals trading back up to get Ty Simpson.

In this scenario though they probably would get Allar or Nussmeier in a later round. Lomu and Bailey would be great additions to the O-Line and D-Line respectively.
