Kadyn Proctor or Akheem Mesidor for me

  1. Mesidor. Dude took over the national title game. That’s the guy I want on my team.

  2. It’ll be somebody nobody expected per usual. I’d bet it all it’s none of these guys.

  3. I’m honestly fine with pretty much any of these guys. Mesidor probably makes the most sense but these are all good choices for the niners

  4. I would be more in on mesidor if he wasn’t 25.  He’ll be 30 at the end of his 1st year contract.

To contrast mykel in his 2nd year in the league will be 22.

I’m in on proctor if he falls.  People seem to hate it, but he can play guard and he is the best tackle we’ll see in the 20s this year or next.

  5. Here’s my thinking – the biggest immediate need is LG or FS. But the team does not prioritize that in the first round.

The premium first round positions are QB (no), OT, WR, EDGE and CB. They don’t value CB that way either and are very picky about OT, and have starters at both tackles this year as well but need a solution for when Trent retires. WR isn’t a need this year except that our three presumptive starters (Evans, Pearsall, Kirk) all missed time last year with injury. That said, Shanahan notoriously doesn’t play rookie WRs so Watkins is more likely to get reps than a rookie.

That leaves us with a EDGE or an OT. In doing a few mocks, it seems to me like you can get a few guys like Blake Miller or the Arizona kid (Max something) who project to tackle) and play them at guard — god knows they won’t be worse than Burford or whoever we have today (Colby or Robert Broken Neck) – and then slide them to tackle when Trent retires, and then there are some edge prospects in the second round. If needed, trade a fourth to move up a bit in the second to get a specific guy. But there aren’t so many tackles.

This is a historically deep tackle draft and hopefully we are again drafting this low again next year, and the year after. We may not get a chance to get a real quality replacement for Trent anytime soon.

  6. I think they should draft me.

I’m pretty small, my sprint time sucks (but my distance paces are solid), and I can’t really catch or block or throw, but I do know land use entitlement pretty well, and at $16.5 million for a 4-year contract, I can help with the public noticing and CEQA red tape to get us a new practice facility away from the injury causing transformers. That’s gotta be worth something right?

  7. They need an OT but I doubt they draft one this high (probably get Jude Bowry in the 4th round). I do see the Niners looking at either Edge or WR, with this pick. KC Concepcion has too many drop issues. But I like Denzel Boston here, as his size fits Brock’s ability to throw into tight windows. If he is available, I would hope they take Sadiq as he would be a solid chess piece for Shanahan. But thats wishful thinking.

  8. Whoever I want it to be it’ll be someone else out of left field, per usual

  9. Either Edge. If we’re lucky enough that they’re available when we pick.

  10. Vega Ioane is the dream, but thinking Cashius Howell or Christen Miller are the pick

  11. I wouldn’t mind a WR bcuz I just dont trust Ricky “Mr. Glass ” Pearsall. Or Sadiq I would love both there are others  i would like if they fell to 27 but I dnt want no projects in the 1st or 2nd rounds that’s main concern

  12. Can’t say with 27 purely because it’s is so late in the first. BPA. Sadiq, Lomu, Boston would all be great.

  13. As long as some needs are addressed, I don’t care about who is drafted. What I care about most is that the team is as healthy as it can be when the season starts in September.
