Caps having no high end center was on full display tonight. If Dylan strome or Dubois are moonlighting as such you’re gunna have a bad time
It’s nice to see them playing well, but is anyone else also completely checked out? Show me you can play when the games count, not when the season is done and dusted.
National PB&J Day:
* and we got a five point night for Jack and a five point night for Bratter
* Dawson Mercer 100 NHL Goals
* there was a bit there where we looked like we were absolutely going to collapse. and even though we didnt have many shots in the latter half of the first or for most of the second period, we made the shots we had count!
* didn’t really give Washington any room to mount a comeback after we took a lead at the end of the first period
* and so many of those goals were absolutely gorgeous. no look pass from Nico to Bratter, beauty of a pass from Lenni to Cody, Jack and Jesper doing a few gives and gos
* this was Lenni’s best game in a bit
* also the best game Bjugstad has played as a Devil
* Luke saved another goal!
* wasn’t a perfect game, still had some glaring mistakes and miscues by players, but we really made up for it with our scoring
* a win for Jake!

Great to get a win against a Metro team that’s not the Rangers and also spoil their playoff hopes. Don’t underestimate the NJ Devils, they have as
many wins as some playoff teams, they just haven’t figured out how to lose properly unfortunately. We have all bitched about Fitz and his lack of urgency towards helping this team improve. We’ve all bitched about Keefe and his awful, seemingly out of character system that he decided to switch up too late. But the truth of the matter is would this team be in a playoff spot right now if “Chicago Cut” never happened? We’ll always wonder I guess.
Nothing would make happier than the Caps missing the playoffs by 2 points.
Actually, us beating the Flyers next week and the Flyers missing by 2 points would make me even happier

I love that this team is playing like they truly have a chance. I love that they’re all dug in and the losses hurt to them the way they hurt to us and the wins feel good the way they do to us.
I always think it’s not over until it’s over, but ultimately I just wanted a strong finish to the season, and I thought we’d be long eliminated by now. Like post-Olympics when we all were talking about what they would have to do, none of us truly thought they could come even close. And yet here we are. So I give them credit. They clearly believe they can get in instead of just giving up because their shot is basically less than 1%. I love to see it and they deserve credit.
Keep up the good fight boys!
