And Buffalo very fairly ran it down the throats of the last team to beat them in the Super Bowl
Buffalo coach said after the game that they hadn’t been notified and they wouldn’t have run straight at it if they had been told ahead of time.
I still think it was a classless act by Buffalo. I get it, the Bills are out there to win the game, and aren’t just going to “give up” on the down. So, I realize I have unrealistic expectations, but every time I see this play, I hate that’s how Buffalo decided to play it.
I love the fact that they honored himw I hate the fact that they didn’t tell Greg that they were doing it so that they could be prepared
RIP Sean, we’ll remember you forever

Continue to rest in peace Mr. Taylor.
Still stopped him with 10 guys. I liked Landry when he was fast and not roided out
again?
I was there, RIP Sean Taylor.

# 21
i was there one of the saddest days ever 😞
Yup I’ll never forget that play
Man, I just love hearing Sean Taylor’s name mentioned by the sports announcers it’s just so surreal. This is an amazing thread. Cheers
I remember hearing he was in critical but stable condition, I thought “he’s an athlete, he will pull through” the next update I heard was he was gone, first time I’d cried over someone I’d never even met.
I was at that game, still have the #21 hand towel they gave out. They didn’t announce it before the play, but I realized what was going on. Can’t lie, I shed a tear.
Watched it live while I was crying my eyes out.
I was there. It was rough to lose that game.
I went to the game. All downhill after kickoff lol.
I’ll never forget that day
Area 51
I was at that game. Before it started, I remember they played a tribute video to #21 on the Jumbotron. It had that hauntingly beautiful music from the end of Gladiator and closed with ST swan diving in the end zone. That final frame of him just soaring was a moment frozen in time. Afterwards, the crowd just stood silent for a few seconds before applauding. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.
It’s gonna be 50 years later and mfers are still gonna karma farm Sean Taylor. 🤡
I was at CiCis pizza in Hampton eating lunch with my framing crew when we saw on the new he died. We were all hardcore Redskins fans – our foreman hit the table and said “Fuck”, then sent us all home for the day. Shoutout to Vinnie (our foreman) – we were all visibly upset, and he realized how distracted we would be.
A good friend of mine bought me tickets to a random skins game that year for my birthday. It ended up being this game and I’ll never forget it.
Reed Doughty, Marcus Washington, HB Blades…. Those guys drove me crazy watching them on our defense
I was there. Awful day.
Love how Landry put the #21 on that runner too
I was there. Have the towel. Made a framed pic with my ticket, the towel, a pic of the 10-man defense from my seat. Sits above my desk to this day. Cried for days. Legit deep cried the moment I found out and paid like $275 for 2 tix in the lower bowl (maybe a piece). Sports highlight was seeing Cal’s game and caps then Nats championship. Lowlight was the death of ST. Out of control sadness for sooooooo long after. Like many years. Still have a bit of it. He had matured, had a beautiful child, and was with Andy Garcia’s daughter. Can never get it out of my head.
Funny story when he was drafted. Had a very close friend who was the F&B guy at Landsdowne and that was where Gibbs was conducting his pre draft interviews. The last possible two he had Kellen Winslow jr and Sean. KWJ was like 8am breakfast meeting and ST was like 10am. Winslow apparently went out the night before and got wrecked and slept in, missing his meeting with Joe fucking Gibbs. ST was early and apparently super quiet and nice. My boy called me and said “lock it up yall drafting Sean Taylor” If gambled back then, I would have made an absolute killing.
RIP 36/21
Reed Doughty. Now that is a name I have not thought of on a long time.
