I ain’t gonna hold you… I would’ve been pissed off lol
Is it really more cruel than watching this team play?
Seriously. Was there a meeting, this idea was presented and a whole team of people thought it was a good idea?
How long before they apologize and give the fan a $10k check?
Edit: it was scripted. And still bad apparently.
Atleast give him something better than just more tickets
Didn’t some team already do this once and also got called for it? I don’t think these people understand how much 10 grand could change most people’s lives
I haven’t watched the video but I will assume this “prank” was all staged and the guy getting “pranked” was an actor.
This has been done before at other events, I remember it was part of CollegeHumor’s prank wars.
And another NBA team already got bad press for taking back a PS5 from a kid (or something like that) earlier this season. If this is real, then it’s veeeeeerrrrryyyyyyy stupid by the Wizards. But I doubt it
The daily mail is a UK outrage rag
Was at this game, and this was staged. Before the half court shots, the announcer said that they will pretend the last guy actually hit the shot, then the contestants walk out the tunnel 3 seconds later.
Even if by chance they didn’t know the deal beforehand, they would have heard the announcer surely.
Lmao are people really complaining about this?
Buncha crying spurs and mavs fans probably after they had a chance to catch their breath from crying about tanking
People are so soft these days
I swear The Cosby Show pulled this same move with Cliff
I still would’ve given him the check though
Fans were OUTRAGED! wizards SLAMMED! organization SCRAMBLING! Critical thinking NOT USED!
how are people this credulous? were we born yesterday guys
I don’t see what the big deal is? It was a joke🤷🏿♂️. It’s not even like he made the shot?
No way people were actually mad I refuse to believe some of you take shit this seriously
We live in a soft era!
Thought it was funny but I get it, good on them lol
This is fine. The reason people in the perpetually outraged community are outraged is that the joke was on THEM. They got up in the morning and were, as usual, looking for something to be outraged about and they found this story. They put their outrage jammies on and went all over the web showing everyone how outraged they were and how cruel this joke was, only to find out later that it was all staged. This of course made them even more outraged and since they were already in for a penny, they decided they needed to be in for a pound.
I’d have done it differently. Of course let the guy be on it, but tell the crowd beforehand what they were doing and they (the crowd) would think that they were in on a AF Day joke on the participant. But then when it’s revealed that he didn’t actually win the money, have the guy get really upset. HE starts yelling at the announcers and seems to get really mad. At this point, the crowd is starting to get a little nervous about what this guy might do. But then he starts chasing after the mascots and does some silly WWE stuff on them until the crowd realizes that the joke was actually on them.
Hire me for PR, Wiz.
People are so soft
Didn’t CollegeHumor do something like this at a Terps game back in the day?
Wait did he not win in the skit? Lol
I don’t get why anyone would even care if it wasn’t a skit, their was still a consolidation prize

Wizards fans, we come in peace, we swear! New joke, [just dropped](https://www.instagram.com/p/DWpPVszippn/)
People are so fcking sensitive when it involves money
Nobody is furious.
I take it as a message to Wizards fans that ownership think we’re fools. I mean… we are, but why go to such lengths to rub it in?
