After this last wave of FA signings, the Titans potentially need to make some room on the roster. Could there be some additional cuts/trades on the horizon?

  1. I mean theres really no huge point in signing udfa unless you really need bodies or you really like someone

  2. They can dump a bunch of DLinemen holdovers who won’t work in Saleh’s new system, plus some other bottom of the roster guys

  3. Training camp Max is 90, I think, so there’s still some room. I would expect some cuts before camp too.

  4. It’s a complete roster overhaul so I’d expect them to bring it many as possible and flip this thing around

  5. I feel like this is grasping at straws. The bottom 1/2 to 2/3 of our roster are sub- NFL players

  6. They only have 9 picks, not 10, so that puts them at 87. David Ebuka Agoha is an IPP exemption, so that would leave room for 4 UDFAs at this point.

There will also certainly be a couple guys that were signed to futures deals who will be cut before UDFAs are signed, and they also still might cut Pollard, Barton, etc. depending on what they do in the draft.

Last year they signed around 16 UDFAs right after the draft, but that’s a relatively high number. Also, 0 of those initial 16 were on the active roster by Week 2 (BCD got back on pretty quickly, but the point stands).

With a ton of cap space this time around, the bulk of the roster should probably be skewed towards floor-raising depth pieces that the staff is familiar with, rather than unknown rookies with no experience who usually don’t work out anyways. 5-8 is probably a perfectly fine number of UDFA’s for them to sign right after the draft.

  7. I mean, god knows you can throw a rock in the locker room and probably hit someone you might as well cut.
