LA Lakers Humiliated in Oklahoma City

The Lakers entered their game in Oklahoma City as one of the hottest teams in the league with title aspirations. They leave OKC after absorbing a historic beating with more questions than answers and less than 2 weeks to play in the regular season.

  1. It is absurdly stupid to try take this game and spin negatively for Shai's MVP case. 28, 7, and 7 on damn near 50% shooting is one amazing off night.

    The MVP isn't based on one game or even one month of great basketball. It's based on the entire season or whole body of work.

  3. Tell me again how SGA is the MVP? He's playing well, no doubt, but the #1 seed elevating him over players who are actually carrying their team to playoff records should no longer be a part of the equation after last night. The OKC team with him on the bench blew out the #3 seed who themselves hosted their own MVP level player. SGA is just scoring the most points on the best team.

  13. This is the video I wanted when SGA put belt to Jokic. 💀Jokic and Luka are the MVPs until it's time to beat the real MVP. SGA had a team high +/- 35 btw.

  24. As a Denver fan, anything but OKC vs San Antonio in the WCF will be a surprise.
    Denver plays the Spurs twice and OKC once, no way they will finish 3rd, they should be happy to keep the 4 seed. Houston has easier schedule and is only one game behind Denver.

  39. I wouldn't be discarding the Lakers because their magic number to ensure their seed is 3 while Denver has to win 5 and Houston needs to win 6. If the Luka injury turns out to be prolonged or season ending then the Lakers are going out early.

  40. SGA led the team and this game in Box plus/minus (+35). That goes down in the stat book but we know that the game was over before those numbers were inflated. This is just a reminder that Box +/- doesn't always tell the story, right? 

    Advanced analytics should not trump the "eye-test". But the eye-test is only effective if you watched the game and you understand basketball.

  41. Stupid defensive scheme that Jj kept running. Lebron kept floating around on both the offensive side and defensive side. Lakers had difficulty dealing with tough defense
