  1. I remember when sports science did math or whatever and decided he could catch any ball thrown to him in a two car garage.

  2. The fact that the corners but not Jerry Rice were tired by the end of the game…

  3. 453 – 229 yards and we still needed THAT drive to win it 20-16 πŸ˜‚

  4. Rice in Super Bowls was elite. Played great when the lights were at their brightest.

    * SB XXIII – 11 rec , 215 yards , 19.5 avg , 1 td
    * SB XXIV – 7 rec , 148 yards , 21.1 avg , 3 td
    * SB XXIX – 10 rec , 149 yards , 14.9 avg , 3 td

    Combined stats in his 3 Super Bowls with the 49ers – 28 rec , 512 yards , 18.3 avg , 7 td

    That’s an average performance of 9.3 rec , 170.7 yards , 18.3 avg , 2.3 td per game.

  5. That’s the first NFL game I ever watched. 10 years old and I fell in love with Joe Montana and the 49ers.

    My dad wouldn’t put football on his TV so I watched it on one of those small TVs you tune in like a radio dial. Sat at the kitchen table on a 6″ black and white.

  6. He was absolutely unstoppable in his prime. I can only imagine what his stats would look like in the modern, 17-game season where flags are thrown on any DB who gives a WR a mean look.
