George Paton Just Gave Broncos Fans THE HARD TRUTH On Denver’s Offseason

Denver Broncos fans just received a TRUTH NUKE after Broncos general manager George Paton shared his vision for Broncos star wide receiver Marvin Mims. Denver Broncos news is piping hot, and the status of Marvin Mims feels like it’s no longer in question despite Broncos trade rumors. Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims was a key figure in helping head coach Sean Payton and starting quarterback Bo Nix make a 2025 AFC Championship game appearance. Additionally, former Denver Broncos edge rusher John Franklin-Myers signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2026 NFL free agency, but Broncos Breakdown host Trace “Moose” Moustakas believes Sai’vion Jones, Malcolm Roach, Jordan Jackson and Eyioma Uwazurike can serve as effective replacements for the former Broncos defensive end.

The 2026 NFL Draft is 23 days away, and the Denver Broncos still do not have a first round pick after trading for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. Currently, Broncos general manager George Paton has not indicated a move into the first round as the Broncos would have to concede an NFL Draft pick, a player or both. If the first round is not a possibility for head coach Sean Payton, he still has a defensive weapon in 2025 NFL Draft third round pick Sai’vion Jones. The former LSU tiger only played in 3 games for the Denver Broncos during the 2025 NFL season, but could be on pace for a breakout 2026 NFL season.

George Paton on John Franklin-Myers’ replacement:
“Just going into it, we feel pretty good. We have [DL] Sai’vion [Jones], and we have our four guys coming back. Our starters, and then ‘Enny’ (DL Eyioma Uwazurike) really came on, and then Sai’vion and [DL] Jordan Jackson. We have pretty good depth, but you are always looking for big guys on the offensive and defensive lines.”

  1. The only guy that makes sense for us in Rd 1 would be Jeremiyah Love and Kenyon Sadiq. And it would have to be that those players are generational talents, which neither of them really are guaranteed to be, as you would likely have to give up next year's number one pick as well. Sadiq what have to be the next coming of Tony Gonzalez, Shannon Sharpe or Kelce. To which spending the second round pick on Eli Stowers is far more smarter of a move. And the a Versitile guy like Adam Randall or safe RB like Mike Washington with 4th Rd Pick 11.
It makes no sense valuing guys in the draft with our current picks over proven guys on the Roster. I think the only viable players we could or would trade is Stidham.

  2. Gotta get a tuff TE like Gronk or Noah Fant. Nobody says fullback anymore. But broncos need a tuff back like Larry Csonka or Derrick Henry. Keep searching until you find him. God says patience is a virtue!

  4. I know if you think you can guess what George and Sean are gonna do , You are fooling yourself!, I doubt they trade back into the first but we don’t know

  6. My Mock Draft
    Rd 2 Pick 30 – 62 overll
    Eli Stowers TE Vanderbilt
(Backup pick if drafted Mike Washington RB Arkansas).
RD 4 (Denver posts we have 108 and 111th pick as well as NFL DRAFT site shows Saint gave us 108 and Seattle 132).
Rd 4 108 Adam Randall Clemson RB – Flexibility in the return game and power back to Offense.
RD 4 111 Bryce Boettcher – ORE LB
Rd 7 Pick 246 Matt Gulbin C MICH ST – Depth to OL
Rd 7 Pick 256 – Isaiah World OT – Ore. The 6ft8 5th year could give good depth to our OL.
RD 7 Pick 257 Luke Altmyer – QB Illinios – With the Likelyhood of our backup QB being gone after 2026 season, Luke has great mental IQ with the ball reading defenders and looking them off, which our QBS could learn more effectively.

Another OL option to drag and coach Fernando Carmona of AR.

  7. Every GM says one thing then does another. It’s called smokescreen. I would be disappointed if GP didn’t do this during draft and free agency.

  8. Mims is a star and I've never understood why the Broncos don't use him more. He catches the damn football and he has the clutch gene. He comes up big when you really need him.

  9. Agreed 💯 % the Broncos won't be trading their Wr's.
I could see the Broncos moving up to get the guys they want at Rb, TE, and ILB. Imo, the Broncos won't have 7 draft picks making this years roster. The other thing is the Broncos will also have 10 draft picks next year with their compensatory picks. Again, the Broncos won't have 10 players making next years roster either. If the Broncos guys are available and provide starting potential, then they must go out and get the guys they want. Your thoughts?

  10. Barring Waddle, Mims could be our best receiver. Now that’s just my opinion, but the dude showed some of what he’s capable of. I can’t wait to see the double long route with him and Waddle. That’s fire.🔥. Time to broaden his horizons and give him a bigger role as a receiver. And Webb may be the guy to do it

  11. No I doubt we go for a 1st rnd pick. Not only the fact that we would have to trade a player, but we don’t need any 1st rounders. We can do great in the 2nd through 6th. Especially in this year’s draft

  12. Great job Moose. I’m hyped for what the Broncos will do this season. With the way they are staffing the team, by next season we won’t have too many big needs. And can work on drafting replacements for older players

  13. I think we need to move up from 62 to the late 1st or early 2nd round, like 25-40 ish and draft Jacob Rodriguez. Dude is exactly what we need in our lb-core.
He’s great in pass coverage and he forces turnovers, something we lacked in in the regular season
