Cowboys Free Agency UPDATE On Bobby Wagner, Jadeveon Clowney, Brandon Aubrey + Maxx Crosby Trade?

Jadeveon Clowney expressed interest in playing this year, including for the Cowboys. Clowney said he can play in 4-3 or 3-4 base schemes & Cowboys know he’s available. However, Jerry Jones’ comments make it clear he’s not expecting to bring Clowney back: “It’s real hard when you look at how Clowney came on last year in the snaps he gave us. It’s real hard not to have a place there for Clowney. But you can’t have it all. You just can’t have it all. If things go right for us, we’ve already made a signing, we’ve made trades, we think that’s the better way to go and of course we got the draft. It can very easily answer some of that question. And it’s getting 41 (Donovan Ezeiruaku) rolling. We’re pretty excited about 41. We all probably totally across the board agree we should have 41 out there more than we had him out there last year with a little more emphasis on what his skills are, which is pressure, rush and counting on that to evolve to a higher level. That’s got something to do big time with Clowney.”
Brian Schottenheimer had some praise for Bobby Wagner in a talk with Kay Adams: “You’re looking at one of the biggest Bobby Wagner fans in the world. Being in Seattle with him for three years and watching him compete and just talk trash in a good way, I love that guy. And he’s still playing at a high level. So, we’ll see how everything works out.”
Cowboys Report host Tom Downey points out that Schotty might have praise for Wagner … but there’s probably a reason the Cowboys have not tried to sign him at all.

Jerry Jones didn’t hint at much development on the Brandon Aubrey front for Dallas: “I would say that I’m satisfied short of where we are with him signing the tender offer. I’m satisfied with where we are there. I’m not going to get into what it would take because that’s obviously still subject of a negotiation, but we do have long-term plans.”

Maxx Crosby trade rumors for the Cowboys should be over for now. Neither Crosby nor the Raiders have much trade leverage (or desire to make a deal happen). Perhaps things are revisited at the NFL Trade Deadline or in 2027.

Y Clowney would be a cheap veteran option.
They could sign Wagner and Okereke as Veteran options and see if they are willing to do a cheap 1 or 2 year deal.
They cannot let Aubry go he is the best in the NFL

And please don't tell me about "coverage issues" when Wagner would represent a huge upgrade for almost your whole linebacker room (possible exception of Overshown)…
