I mean dude seems like a bit of a pussy so I can see it
Can we move on from the Patullo discussion? We know, he wasn’t a successful OC, not much else to say at this point. He’s no longer with the team, it’s time to leave it in the past and focus on the present.
Still can’t name his source, what is it with these guys and keeping that detail out.
Caplan has dropped some great nuggets on the Jalen article. He doesn’t think it’s a hit piece because it highlight both the good and bad. It also aligns with what he’s heard from people over the past few years.
But he does say the idea that Hurts is ” not coachable” is bullshit. He’s more hard to coach than uncoachable. Hurts seems to want to do things his way and needs a coach to push him to listen.
Also mentioned that Kellen was frustrated in 2024 and wasn’t really able to run his offense the way he wanted. Obviously it worked out for us, but it took the OL convincing Sirianni to change the offense to be run-heavy.
There’s *some* concern over Mannion being able to coach Hurts as he has limited experience, but Caplan thinks Hurts will ball next year if he buys in.
Not a coincidence Hurts best years were when he didnt have an OC who was his pal and actually challenged/coached instead of acquiescing to him
Off season = rise of unfounded claims
I just want to say – the guys at Inside The Birds are amazing. We are so lucky to have groups like this with all 4 major sports. PHLY, Inside the Birds, Locked on Pattinson, etc. It’s great coverage, they’re not usually radio host hot takers.
Both Mosher & Kaplan are fantastic. I’m a big fan.
Off season bla bla bla this shit will dissipate in minicamp when we have some eagles film lol
There have been reports of Hurts and Moore’s relationship being tense, same with Hurts and Brian Johnson, who knew each other from Hurts’ childhood, deteriorating
Now KP is the third straight OC in a row. Not to mention AJ Brown who was best friends with AJ at the time we traded for him and the literal godparents of each others children
Jalen Hurts is the common denominator but this sub will downvote anyone that points it out
Sources from inside the organization tried to point it out with these articles too. They’re sick of him. But he’s got almost like a cult like following him
A common thing that I’ve been hearing during this whole “Hurts Watch” news cycle is that Patullo is “really smart”. The guy who went on record and said “just running it to run in” when asked about running the ball with unfavorable looks. Real Einstein over here
This all sounds legit— But I’ve got a push back on the line “ disaster for three years.” I don’t care what kind of behind-the-scenes drama was going on in 2024. We won a Super Bowl. Convincingly. I’m pretty sure just about every team in the NFL. Would love to have a “disaster” like that.
If Hurts is hard to coach, it’s insane that they chose an internal hire guy with zero experience
This guy was vaguely talking out his ass the whole time. Once he started calling Hurts and oddball and shit like that is when everything before that lost all credibility.
I am so fucking out on Patullo as an OC with his horrific play calling and scheming that was occurring all of last year. Our offense couldn’t provide an ounce of hope for an entire season when we had a top 3 defense and a solid special teams. There is no way you can pin that absolute blunder on top of anyone except the person who had taken over the reigns after Moore left. People in this section also talking about how we were not leading the league in passing numbers. What, you’d prefer the Lamar approach where we shit the bed every postseason? Hurts has put up his best games every single time when it matters most. He should be a 2x SB MVP had we not had a weak defensive holding call.
Bunch of absolute idiots who feed off drama in this fanbase that have no idea what fucking perennial losing is like. Spoiled brats.
It’s awesome that KP waited until his offense blew a whole season and a top 5 defense to decide to speak up. The only comparison to be made is Kellen vs Nick/KP. And maybe just for confirmation, Nick/BJ & Nick/KP.
We know for a fact that hurts is good enough to get to a SB, be the best player on the field, and win that SB.
Everything about Jalen will be reframed as negative until he produces at a top 5 level. Since people feel super negatively about him since he has never ran a high production passing offense to a high finish. Its always going to be the conversation because this was the conversation around Lamar till he improved as a passer. The reality is people do not respect dual threat quarterbacks unless they are comparable passing wise, and they especially do not respect players they feel are in “privileged positions”. Both of which Jalen Hurts fits to a T and we are going to have to suffer garbage discourse around it until he leaves the team. So that people can get their Justin Herbert and Josh Allen what if situations off until the end of time.
Ah fuck Kevin patullo
