  1. I really would prefer that we not draft undersized players this year. I would love for us to meet all the measurement thresholds.

If we go OT they should be at least 6-4, 310 pounds and with 33 inch arms.

If we go Defensive End they should be at least 6-2, 260 pounds with 33 inch arms.

If we go outside corner they should be at least 6-0, 190 pounds with 31 inch arms.

If we go receiver they should be at least 6-0, 195 pounds.

These are just the minimum thresholds. Ideal measurements would be an inch longer than that for the arms. I understand that exceptions exist, but we keep getting burned over and over by undersized players. Especially at receiver. Tyreek is the exception to the rule. Stop trying to find the outlier.

  2. The Dexter Lawrence situation is interesting, because on the one hand it makes sense for him to be frustrated with a Giants team that’s given away a lot of talent and failed to rebuild for years. But on the other hand, he signed a contract and has two years left, and didn’t play well last season. We see this happen so much in the NFL where players sign a contract and immediately try to get traded or get a new one. Maxx Crosby and Trey Hendrickson are probably the most infamous examples.

Meanwhile over in college athletics it’s complete chaos because every player is a free agent every year and there’s a ton of roster turnover. And it forces teams to constantly rebuild every season. It just goes to show how important contracts are, especially multi-year ones, because there’s no loyalty from either side in a sport with so much money to be made.
