Liam Delap’s future at Chelsea has reached a tense stalemate, with the young striker turning down new approaches surrounding his future.

Liam Delap is finding life difficult at Chelsea. Despite high expectations, the 23-year-old striker has struggled to secure a regular starting spot, often finding himself behind Joao Pedro in the pecking order.

Recent displays have highlighted his lack of confidence, particularly in a frustrating 1-0 loss to Newcastle where he missed several clear-cut chances after coming off the bench.

And with the imminent arrival of Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg, there are doubts over whether he has a long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

Do you think Chelsea should have parted with Enzo Maresca?🤔

According to Simon Phillips, Chelsea have been looking at options for Delap because they have been unhappy with his progress so far.

It is believed that one of those options is to send him to Strasbourg, likely on a loan move.

The Blues have presented Delap to Strasbourg, but so far the striker has rejected every attempt of that proposal, wanting to stay at Chelsea.

After all, it has been claimed that Delap is not ready to call it quits at Stamford Bridge, despite the lack of football so far this season.

Out of the managers we have been linked with, which one do you think might be able to get the very best out of Cole Palmer again?👀

Chelsea simply cannot afford to wait for Liam Delap to find his feet while the club’s ambitious project stalls. With just one goal in 25 Premier League appearances and a finishing rate that has failed to justify his £30 million price tag, the 23-year-old is quickly becoming a luxury.

With Nicolas Jackson returning from Bayern Munich too, it’s not like the Blues will be short of options.

At a club where patience is thin, Delap’s reluctance to accept a development loan may just for Chelsea to make his decision for him this summer.
