UPDATE: During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero confirmed Kaboly’s report and added that he’s been told there hasn’t been communication between the sides to meet this weekend.

Our original story is below.

The Pittsburgh Steelers do not have a meeting currently scheduled or expected with QB Aaron Rodgers, per Mark Kaboly of The Pat McAfee Show. It was previously reported that Rodgers would be coming to town to meet with the team and potentially finalize a new contract to return to Pittsburgh for 2026.

From everything I can gather, there is no meeting scheduled or expected between Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers.

I’ve reached out to a couple inside the building and nobody has seen him yet.

Today is the first day of rookie minicamp. Media will be there on Saturday.

It was first reported by 93.7 The Fan and later confirmed by Ian Rapoport and Gerry Dulac that Rodgers is supposed to meet with Steelers brass this weekend. Kaboly added to the bottom of his report that there’s a chance that Rodgers does show up, but there’s nothing currently on the docket as far as him meeting with the Steelers, though his sources inside the building have not spotted Rodgers.

That echoes what Omar Khan said this morning during an appearance on You Better You Bet, where he denied knowing where Rodgers is and downplayed the idea of the two sides meeting. Khan didn’t outright deny that a meeting will happen and carefully chose his words, but it doesn’t sound as if anything is imminent between Rodgers and the Steelers.

Kaboly’s report doesn’t exactly mean Rodgers isn’t coming this weekend, or that he hasn’t been in contact with the team in some capacity today. But there’s nothing scheduled or expected to be and as of this writing, Rodgers hasn’t been at the Steelers’ facility. With rookie minicamp underway, the coaching staff’s focus is on getting the next crop of Steelers ready to perform, so it would make some measure of sense if Rodgers’ meeting is later in the day or at night when Mike McCarthy can take a more active role in it.

But we don’t have any legitimate confirmation that a meeting is happening yet, and if it doesn’t happen this weekend, the Rodgers saga could continue to drag on. Last year, he signed in June right before mandatory minicamp, and Omar Khan said at the Combine in late February that the process with Rodgers wouldn’t take as long this year, but it’s getting close. A meeting to finalize details this weekend and lock things in with Rodgers before OTAs would be ideal, but it might not be reality despite previous reports.

If Rodgers doesn’t return for 2026, the Steelers will likely roll with Will Howard, Mason Rudolph and Drew Allar at quarterback. Rodgers would give them the best chance to win this season, but getting a look at Howard would also benefit the Steelers. Ultimately, even with the process dragging out, it still seems likely that Rodgers signs with the Steelers, but with Kaboly’s report that no meeting is expected, it could take a bit longer.
