Barker sank the game-winner at the buzzer against the New York Liberty to give the Fire their first-ever win in the WNBA, 98-96, sending the crowd at Moda Center into total jubilation.
The Fire lost to the Chicago Sky in their debut, 98-83, on Saturday.
With 5.5 seconds left, Bridget Carleton hoisted a three-pointer, which missed badly. Barker grabbed the offensive rebound and scored on the putback as time expired.
It was Barker’s second field goal only. She finished with five points, two rebounds, and three assists in 22 minutes off the bench.
Carleton led the way for Portland with a game-high 26 points, including 5-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc. She also had four steals.
