Steve Kerr, at this point of his coaching career, has nothing left to prove. He helmed the bench of the Golden State Warriors team that won four championships, and even with the Warriors on the downturn, he can hold his head high as one of the greatest coaches of his generation.

Kerr, however, feels as though he hasn’t yet written the final chapters of his coaching career, as he re-signed with the team on a two-year contract, perhaps to see out the careers of both Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
But of course, the Warriors aren’t in the realm of contention amid the team’s injury woes and the team’s continued age-related decline. Kerr appears to be well content to complete some side quests along the way, and one of them appears to be cramming as many Taylor Swift lyrics into his press conferences.
He admitted as such in a feature by ESPN’s Wright Thompson, and footage of him quoting the opening words from Swift’s “All Too Well” has now surfaced online, via NBA Base on X (formerly Twitter).
Kerr has gone through so many press conferences in his 12 or so years as the Warriors’ head coach, and it’s not surprising at all to see him find ways to enjoy himself while going through the routinary slog of an NBA season.

Quoting lyrics from one of the most iconic pop stars of all time without being too obvious about it is certainly a clever way to do so, and the exchanges in the Kerr family group chat must have been very hilarious. The fact that Swift knows this and finds it “funny” also adds to the hilarity and charm of it all.
The Warriors head coach may not be in the business of winning any more rings soon, but he’s winning hearts — especially Swifties — which may be what matters more in the end anyway.
