Uncrowned has Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano live results, round-by-round updates, highlights and start time for the Rousey vs. Carano fight card on Saturday night at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. In a historic event, UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey and MMA pioneer Gina Carano make their returns atop the first-ever MMA card broadcasted by Netflix and promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
Rousey (15-0) changed MMA forever when she debuted in the UFC in 2013, making six consecutive defense of the UFC women’s bantamweight title and opening the floodgates for women to compete in the sport’s biggest promotion. She now makes her return to the cage for the first time in nearly 10 years.

Carano (7-1), likewise, competes for the first time since 2009. Like Rousey, she helped tear down the door for women’s MMA and was one of the sport’s most high-profile trailblazers of its earliest eras.

Despaigne walks in with his hands down before launching a head kick and looping punch. Both are blocked before dos Santos lands a hard inside low kick. Despaigne starts firing off big hooks and dos Santos stunningly attempts a single-leg to no avail. Despaigne slips off an odd sequence, then fires off a hard calf kick. Dos Santos jabs then gets caught with a counter shot. A clean uppercut sneaks through for Despaigne! Ouch. Dos Santos gets tagged with a big punch and shells up! Another Despaigne head kick gets blocked. Dos Santos has blood on his mouth now. Dos Santos may have a leg injury, then a massive right straight down the pipe sleeps him! Oh my God. Disgusting knockout.

It’s kind of funny to see two heavyweight fights thrown onto MVP’s first MMA card, after continually seeing the UFC playbook bashed over our heads weekly. Obviously, they’re two different kinds of heavyweight fights here, but they still have silliness at their roots.
UFC essentially bailed on the Robelis Despaigne project as soon as he was exposed to have zero wrestling defense. But clearly the guy is still a solid deliverer of entertainment when exclusively striking, and that’s why this matchup with Junior dos Santos was made.
The 42-year-old former UFC heavyweight champion has perpetually been a striker of the highest order. I truly can’t recall a single time dos Santos has ever shot for a takedown, and I’ve seen nearly his entire MMA career.
(Stunningly, according to UFC Stats, he attempted 10 in 23 fights, landing half.)
Dos Santos admittedly had a minor late-career resurgence in Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA with wins over Fabricio Werdum and Alan Belcher in recent years. You know, guys more around his current age range. Though those fights took place in 2023 and 2024, respectively, so he hasn’t been the most active.
Essentially, Despaigne is a monster of a man with freshness on his side. It won’t take much from the 6-foot-7 giant to put out a weathered legend’s lights.
