While the Oklahoma City Thunder have kept their cards close to the vest, Jalen Williams might’ve provided a spoiler for their epic 2026 Western Conference Finals showdown with the San Antonio Spurs. The All-NBA talent revealed in his latest YouTube vlog that he’s ready to go.

Arguably the biggest question mark heading into the highly anticipated matchup, Williams’ status could flip the series odds in favor of the Thunder. An injury-plagued season has unfortunately carried over to the NBA playoffs. He sustained a third hamstring strain in five months during OKC’s Game 2 win over the Phoenix Suns on Apr. 22.

Nearly a month later, Williams detailed the injury for the first time. He was limited to 33 regular-season games this past year due to two wrist surgeries and two hamstring strains. Despite his postseason absence, the Thunder have remained a win machine with two series sweeps and a perfect 8-0 record.

“It’s good that I haven’t had to rush back from my hamstring stuff at all,” Williams said. “I’m actually taking extra days now than from what was originally planned because we were up 3-0, so there was no point in going into this series and possibly hurting myself before we play the Timberwolves or the Spurs. I’m about to go into another series healthy.”

Good to hear straight from the source. We won’t know Williams’ official Game 1 status until Sunday afternoon, but it sounds like he’ll be good to go. Which makes sense, considering the traditional timeline for a Grade 1 hamstring strain is just a couple of weeks.

The Thunder will need Williams to play like his All-NBA self from here on out. They’ve managed to win without him, but if they hope to win back-to-back Larry O’Brien trophies, he’ll need to be OKC’s second-best player behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Right now, we’re at the sprint part of the NBA’s marathon. It’s now or never to salvage an injury-riddled year with another potential ring.
