San Antonio eventually ended Minnesota’s season in six games, closing the series with two one-sided wins to reach the Western Conference Finals.

That made Game 4 feel even more important in hindsight. The Timberwolves’ win briefly revived belief, and Victor Wembanyama’s ejection was central to that shift.

Wembanyama was tossed after elbowing Naz Reid, and Anthony Edwards’ amusement at the ejection has now surfaced through a new video on his YouTube channel.

After the 114-109 win on that occasion, Edwards said (via ClutchPoints): “I was so happy that n—— got kicked out. I hope they suspend him.”

The line was blunt, but it showed how much Wembanyama’s presence had shaped the series.

Still, the Frenchman was not suspended and returned in Game 5, where he led the Spurs with 27 points as San Antonio regained control of the series.

Previously, Edwards had explained why the Frenchman causes such problems, saying: “That n—— is like eight-foot-five when he spreads out. The rim ain’t nothing but 10 feet!

“You got to put that b—— so high above the rim. He’s like a statue. It’s so hard to beat them when he’s on the floor just because of his defense.”
