At the 2025-26 trade deadline, the Heat had a package that enticed the Bucks. That is huge for the Heat because they might finally land a blockbuster target, but it is not a 100% sure thing, as the Bucks will take offers from any other team in the league.
The Heat could land Giannis Antetokounmpo because the Bucks like their package
It is no secret that the Heat have been chasing star players for the past few seasons. They wanted to keep building around Jimmy Butler and Adebayo, but now that the former is gone, the latter continues to be the building block.
Team president Pat Riley thinks that Adebayo will be the foundation they need. However, he will need some teammates who can also play at an elite level, which is when the star player comes in. There have been plenty of names thrown around, including Donovan Mitchell and Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo would immediately turn the Heat into one of the most dangerous teams in the Eastern Conference. They already have a good defense led by Adebayo, and putting Antetokounmpo on top of that makes them even harder to score against.
Of course, the fit is a bit suspect because offensively, they are lacking the shooting from the frontcourt. However, Erik Spoelstra is at the helm, so anything is possible.
“The Miami Heat were very motivated at the deadline. I think Milwaukee liked their offer at the time. They just weren’t ready to trade Giannis. I’m sure they’ll get back involved. I would also look at a team like Orlando,” Ramona Shelburne said on The Rich Eisen Show.

Moving forward, the Heat would be an interesting landing spot for Giannis. They have the infrastructure to support his hunger to win a title, and they have all the right staff to double down on their championship contention.
