The NCAA has voted to eliminate the two-year probationary postseason ban for teams transitioning from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), allowing Sacramento State to compete in bowl games and potentially the College Football Playoff during their first season. To qualify, teams must finish with a 6-6 record and fulfill one of their conference’s bowl commitments. SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
