Kane Brown is counting his blessings after a frightening accident on the golf course left him with 23 stitches and a slight concussion.

The country superstar took to social media to update fans after being struck in the head by a golf ball on Tuesday, June 23. While the injury looked severe, Brown assured fans that he’s recovering and grateful the situation wasn’t much worse.

A Golf Outing Takes a Dangerous Turn

Brown revealed that he was hit in the ear by a golf ball while playing with friends. Sharing photos of the injury online, the singer showed a bloodied ear and later confirmed that he required 23 stitches and suffered a “slight concussion.”

In a video update, the “Woman” singer explained that the shot came from one of his playing partners. “So I got hit in the ear with a golf ball, and a lot of people, they think that the ball came over multiple fairways. No, this one, it was my own buddy. I ain’t going to name any names. He feels terrible, but he needs to know that I’m good.”

Doctors Say the Outcome Could Have Been Much Worse

According to Brown, doctors told him he was extremely fortunate. If the ball had landed slightly differently, the injury could have been far more severe, or he could have died from the impact.

The singer explained that the golf ball, which he estimated was traveling between 150 and 180 miles per hour, struck his ear rather than a more vulnerable area of his head. “It was about 150 to 180 mile an hour ball, a three-wood slice…We already hit our drives. I’m in the rough. He’s in the fairway…It went just enough time for me to do this. I mean, I guess technically, the best possible place it could have hit me. I’m just glad I’m here.”

Injury Forces Kane Brown to Miss Nashville Event

The accident also impacted Brown’s schedule. He was forced to pull out of the Tight Ends & Friends concert in Nashville, where he had been scheduled to perform as part of Tight End University festivities.

The concert ultimately went on without him and later made headlines for surprise appearances from several artists, including a guest performance by Taylor Swift.
