Cammy Devlin’s arrival at Rangers from Hearts has caught the eye of Scottish football fans – and it appears to have grabbed Celtic star Reo Hatate‘s attention.

Devlin left Tynecastle as a free agent and the Australia international has opted to follow Jambos’ captain Lawrence Shankland and boss Derek McInnes to Ibrox.

The 28-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the option of a third after knocking back offers from the MLS.

And while the transfer may have split opinion among the Rangers support, Hatate appears to have endorsed the deal.

The Japan international has liked a snap of Devlin’s unveiled that was posted to both Rangers Instagram account and the player’s personal page.

The move by Hatate – who has publicly admitted he wants to play in a top five European league as he nears a Parkhead exit this summer – has split Celtic fan opinion.

One punter was quick to declare the 28-year-old’s Parkhead career over: “Bye bye Reo Hatate.”

Another branded the move “bizarre” while a brutal take called Hatate “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

But others were more forgiving. A diehard said: “He follows Cammy Devlin on Insta so it’s prob popped up on his feed and he’s just liked it without reading it.”

A supporter rounded off: “He follows Devlin. Could be an accident. And who gives a f***.”

Well, quite. But the man himself has yet to return for pre-season yet – while boss Martin O’Neill explaining his current status earlier this week, after he missed the friendly clash with Shelbourne.

He explained: “Reo came late to proceedings. I think he was a bit ill at the time, so he missed out about four or five days.

“He’s doing a little bit of work and he’s catching up with us in Portugal.”
