Wyoming Boys Golfers Compete at PGA HS Golf National Invitational - RAW CHILI

The boys take their turn at the 2026 PGA High School Golf National Invitational at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in North Carolina. The boys’ tournament starts on Saturday, July 18, and goes through Monday, July 20. The field of golfers is playing 36 holes on Pinehurst’s No. 5 and No. 6 courses. There is a cut after the first two rounds, so the final round features fewer golfers. One team and three individual players from Wyoming will be in this feature event.

EIGHT WYOMING BOYS GOLFERS ARE AT THE NATIONAL INVITATIONAL

2025 Class 4A state champion Campbell County will compete as a team. The Camels’ five players in the field will be Jaxon Burr, Drew Gemar, Cash Gray, Jackson Laakso, and Cade Peterson.

The three individuals were all state champions last fall (2025). 4A champ Carson Moniz from Laramie, 3A champion Tate Nichols of Wheatland, and 2A title winner Trevan Benson from Kemmerer will be playing.

Moniz and Nichols will play Pinehurst’s No. 6 course on Saturday and the No. 5 course on Sunday. Benson is opposite (No. 5 Saturday and No. 6 on Sunday). Campbell County competes as a team, and they are on No. 5 on Saturday and No. 6 on Sunday.

The 36-hole cut will be for the top 28 teams (and ties) and top 16 individuals (and ties) not advancing as part of a team.

Former Wyoming great Parker Paxton has the best finish in recent years. He tied for seventh place at 2-under par in 2022.
