The 21st Annual Masonic Scholarship Golf Outing was held at the Westwood Golf Club on June 27. It tied a record with 54 golfers registered. The weather was perfect golfing weather. The Westwood golf course, under new ownership, was in top season condition.

The Masonic Golf Outing raises money for scholarships for local graduating seniors.

The 2026 scholarship recipients are Anna Belan, Phillips High School; Ryder Jones, Prentice High School; and Angelina BeBeau, Chequamegon High School.

Phillips Lodge Master Al Cummings; Ryan Lemke, of Medford Motors; and Stacie Prochnow, of Forward Bank welcomed the golfers. Jon Pesko provided the tournament rules. The tournament kicked off with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start.

The Masonic Golf Outing is supported by Medford Motors, the tournament sponsor, Forward Bank and individual sponsors and donors. Medford Motors sponsors a $250 prize on Hole No. 5, for the closest to the pin in one stroke for both a man and a woman. Forward Bank sponsors a $10,000 Hole-in-one prize on Hole No. 9. Course prizes are offered on each of the remaining holes. Silent Auction items were available on which to bid.

The Masonic Golf Outing committee is made up of Alan Cummings, Lee Hankschke and Sam Opresik. They were assisted by Lodge members, wives, and other volunteers.

RESULTS

• Hole No. 9: Hole-in-one: No golfers made a hole-in-one to claim the Forward Bank $10,000 prize.

• Hole No. 5 Medford Motors Special Competition: Kip Nussberger won the Men’s Division. Katie Desotelle won the Women’s Division.

•Scratch Division: The First Place honors went to Sawyer Hake and Owen Hake. Second Place went to Cam Heikkinen and Steve Precour. The Third Place winners were Jon Pesko nd Brian Baratka.

• Peoria Division: The first place honors went to Dave Nehls and Kip Nussberger. Second place went to Jane Lenz and Tim Lenz. Third place went to Paul Schilling and Kyle Nussberger.

At the conclusion of the Golf Outing, the proxy prizes and the silent auction winners were announced. The Medford Motors Hole No. 5 competition, the Handicap and the Scratch Division Prizes were awarded. The Sand Trap Bar & Grill served lunch, by Chef Joe Bending.

The plans are for the 22nd Annual Masonic Scholarship Golf Outing to be held at the Westwood Golf Course on Saturday June 26, 2027.
