Support Special Olympics Illinois on Saturday by attending the “Fore the Flame Charity Golf Challenge.”
The event will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Inwood Golf Club Driving Range, 3200 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet.
After purchasing five specially marked and numbered golf balls for $20, participants will then attempt to “land a golf ball inside of a decommissioned Joliet Police Department squad vehicle positioned on the driving range at around 100 yards,” according to a news release from the Joliet Police Department.
Any golf balls landing inside the police vehicle will be collected and entered into a drawing at the end of the event, where three winning golf balls will be selected, according to the release.
The first drawing winner will receive the 50/50 raffle grand prize, and the second and third drawing winners will receive “additional prizes,” according to the release.
Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle will benefit Special Olympics Illinois through the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run, according to the release.
The Joliet Police Department is hosting the event in partnership with the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois, Inwood Golf Club and the Joliet Park District, according to the release.
