WNBA‘s DiJonai Carrington is publicly accusing her ex-girlfriend of cheating on her.

The veteran WNBA guard took to social media during the league’s All-Star Weekend to accuse her ex-girlfriend, fellow WNBA player NaLyssa Smith, of cheating on her with some fellow players. The couple split last year.

Carrington, a guard for the Chicago Sky, named two players – Deja Kelly and Aaliyah Nye – in her accusation.

“Since mfs wanna be funny today ima be hilarious!” Carrington wrote. “yes , nalyssa cheated on me with Deja Kelly and Aaliyah Nye +++ many more.”

It’s unclear at this point what led Carrington to make the accusations public on social media.

“It’s unclear what prompted Carrington to publicly disclose the information around her former relationship with Smith, who she had begun dating back in 2020 while they both played for Baylor’s women’s basketball team,” the New York Post reported.

“Their relationship continued after they made the jump to the WNBA and even when the couple was briefly teammates while on the Wings during the 2025 season. Smith, Kelly and Nye have not made any public comments about the accusation.”

Carrington made some different statements publicly during the breakup

Last year, Carrington made some different comments, making it seem like the relationship ended on fairly good terms.

She said: “we’re good, but we’re not together anymore.”

She added: “It was on good terms – we just grew in different directions.”

Relationships between WNBA players are not that common, though they do happen. Dallas Wings guards Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd are dating each other, after playing together at UConn.

Carrington’s public accusations should make for some interesting WNBA matchups moving forward this year.
