Jimmie Johnson will make his final NASCAR Cup Series start in 2027 via the Daytona 500
Jimmie Johnson made his debut in the series back in 2001. He went on to claim 7 NASCAR Cup Series championships.
In the 2027 Daytona 500, the now 50-year-old is set to make his final start in the NASCAR Cup Series. The car will be fielded by Legacy Motor Club, the team Johnson co-owns.
He’ll end his career with 703 career races.
Last week, it was announced that Hendrick Motorsports will be loaning the No. 48 number to Johnson for his final start. Alex Bowman is the current driver of the No. 48 car.
Johnson also hinted that he attempted to get Lowe’s to return as a sponsor for his final ride. However, he noted that was probably impossible.
