It was a busy MLB trade deadline for the Giants as they became one of the biggest sellers in the majors.
Luis Arraez, Caleb Kilian, Heliot Ramos, Tyler Mahle and Robbie Ray all found new homes as San Francisco received a haul of minor league prospects for their valuable assets.
Following the deadline, Baseball America ranked every minor league player that was dealt, and here’s where they ranked the prospects the Giants received among the 75 that were moved:
Ranked just outside the top-100 of Baseball America, Marquez (Phillies’ No. 4 prospect) was part of the deal that sent Arraez and Kilian to Philadelphia.
“Marquez has been one of the best pitchers in Class A this year. For a 20-year-old, his reliability is notable. While many pitchers his age bounce from dominant to dominated from start to start, Marquez has solid command of his three-pitch mix start after start, and projects to be a future big league mid-rotation starter.”

10. Henry Lalane, LHP (from Yankees)
The key piece in the deal that sent Ramos to the Bronx, Lalane was the Yankees’ No. 5 prospect.
“Lalane looked like a future ace in 2023, but shoulder surgery derailed his career for two years. He’s healthy once again in 2026, and his stuff has returned to the form that once made him one of the most intriguing prospects in the lower levels of the minors. Lalane is a big lefty with big stuff.”

Mendez, No. 4 prospect via MLB.com, was one of two prospects sent to San Diego for Ray. The 24-year-old righty has a 2-2 record with a 4.79 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 12 games between Double-A San Antonio (11 GP) and High-A Fort Wayne (1 GP.)
The other piece in the Ray trade, Hernandez, 17, was San Diego’s ninth-ranked prospect according to MLB.com.
24. Kaeden Kent, 2B (from Yankees)
Kent was the Yankees’ 14th ranked prospect, according to Baseball America, and batted .302 with 55 runs, 20 doubles, two triples, six home runs and a .792 OPS in 76 games for High-A Hudson Valley.
43. Marty Gair, RHP (from Phillies)
Gair, 23, was an unranked Phillies prospect. He was a 13th-round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft.
