NORMAN, Okla. – The Washington and Lee University men’s golf team was honored for the academic success as they team garnered their 13th-straight PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award while four student-athletes were named Cobalt All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced this week.
A GCAA-record 331 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award. 155 schools received Presidents Special Recognition for having an average team GPA of 3.5 or above in 2025-26. This year marked the Generals 13th consecutive Team Academic Award and President’s Special Recognition, honoring their commitment to the classroom.

In addition, the Blue and White saw four student-athletes be named Coblat Golf Scholar All-Americas. Recent Graduate Turner Edwards, rising senior Jonathan McEwen and rising juniors Tim Kaufman and Charlie Krasnewich. McEwen and Edwards earned their second honor from the organization while Kaufman and Krasnewich were named All-America Scholar’s for the first time in their careers.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate’s degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university. This year, 261 NCAA Division III athletes from 95 schools earned 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
