Both of Blinn College’s soccer teams will begin the 2026 season ranked in the NJCAA Division I United Soccer Coaches polls.
The Blinn men are ranked No. 7 in the USC preseason poll while the Blinn women start the season ranked 13th in the coaches poll. Both USC polls came out on Aug. 4.
Blinn is one of only eight men’s programs ranked in the NJCAA Division I preseason poll. The Buccaneers are in the same position as the final poll of the 2025 season, when they made the NJCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship for the first time in program history.
Blinn’s women also are in the same position as last year’s postseason rankings. They finished the 2025 season with a 9-3-3 record after a tough penalty-shootout loss to Tyler in the Region XIV Tournament quarterfinals.
The Buccaneers are far from the only teams to carry their national positions into the 2026 season. All eight teams ranked in the USC men’s poll and all 19 teams ranked in the USC women’s poll maintained their positions from last year’s final rankings.
Some of Blinn’s region opponents join the Buccaneers in the preseason rankings. Tyler is ranked third in both the men’s and women’s polls while Trinity Valley is ranked fourth in the women’s poll.
Blinn’s soccer seasons will start on Aug. 20 and 21. The women begin play at 8 p.m. on Aug. 20 against No. 12 Butler. Blinn’s men start their season at 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 21 against Southwestern Christian College.
Schools must be members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services program to be considered for all USC rankings.
