The 2026 FIFA World Cup may not have gone the way soccer megastar Cristiano Ronaldo wanted, but he’s still ending the summer on a high note: He’s married.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Ronaldo and his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez announced that they are officially married, showing off the wedding rings on their right hands.
“C❤️G,” Ronaldo wrote on his account.
Countless congratulations for the happy couple were posted on Instagram. Ronaldo’s post already has over 9 million likes, over 440,000 comments and 320,000 shares.
“A new chapter for one of football’s most iconic couples. 💍❤️ Congratulations to Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez wishing them a lifetime of happiness, love and togetherness,” one user wrote.
“Congratulations the GOAT,” wrote another.
“Bro finally completed his last side quest, ring on the finger before retirement, legend! 5 Champions Leagues, 5 Ballon d’Ors, and now a ring. Ronaldo’s trophy cabinet is officially maxed out,” a third wrote.
According to People, a press release stated that the two got married in a civil ceremony earlier today and was done as a “private and intimate moment” in the presence of their five children rather than as a big spectacle with tons of celebrities everywhere.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez
Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together since around 2017, after reportedly meeting while Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. Rodríguez gave birth to their daughter, Alana Martina, in November 2017, and the couple later welcomed daughter Bella Esmeralda in 2022. They also raise Ronaldo’s other three children, Cristiano Jr. and twins Eva and Mateo. Their family life has been featured prominently in Rodríguez’s Netflix reality series, I Am Georgina.
After nearly a decade together, Rodríguez announced in August 2025 that she and Ronaldo were engaged, sharing a photograph of her large diamond ring on social media. Rodríguez has also developed her own career as a model, influencer and entrepreneur, while frequently supporting Ronaldo publicly and appearing alongside him at major events.
