COMMERCE, Texas — Senior Sophie Morrin started the scoring and freshman Kennedy Kaiser added some insurance as Oklahoma Soccer (2-0) defeated East Texas A&M (1-1), 2-0, in OU’s road debut Sunday, Aug. 16.

Drue Legan and Brenna Hallam came through with an assist apiece and goalkeeper Callie Sullivan turned in a save in her only opportunity on frame, posting a full 90 in goal.

The Sooners knocked at the door early until the pressure finally broke East Texas A&M’s backline in the 18th minute. Legan lofted a beautiful ball towards goal that Morrin headed in for a 1-0 OU lead. Kaiser provided insurance in the 43rd minute after Hallam slotted a perfect through ball to Kaiser, who gathered it and scored with her left foot.

Oklahoma outshot East Texas A&M, 15-0, in the second half, holding the Lions to limited possession en route a second shutout in as many matches.
