The Indiana Fever put on a show on Sunday night, cruising past the Chicago Sky, 113-90, at Wintrust Arena. Unfortunately, the 30-point efforts by Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell were overshadowed by Enes Kanter Freedom.
The former NBA star showed up to the game and ended up in a courtside confrontation with Sky star Natasha Cloud, which ultimately led to him being escorted from his seat and removed from the arena.
Kanter Freedom stepped over a cameraman and onto the baseline, sparking a verbal confrontation with Cloud.
Cloud did not speak to the media following Sunday night’s game, so she has not shared her side of the story, but Kanter Freedom alleges she made a comment about Fever star Sophie Cunningham before the incident escalated. He made the comments while speaking to FOX News’ Jack Thompson.

Kanter alleges he celebrated a Sophie Cunningham three-pointer during the third quarter, which was her only basket of the game, before Cloud confronted him.
“I’m a huge fan of basketball, I’m a huge fan of women’s basketball, and I was there to watch the game, and I was really excited because I am a huge fan of the Fever,” Kanter said. “It was towards the end of the third quarter, Sophie Cunningham shot a three, and I put my hands up to celebrate.

“Literally, a couple possessions later, Natasha came back and started screaming and yelling and said, ”She’s not gonna sleep with you.’ I was like, ‘I am not trying to sleep with her. I’m just here to protect women and support her.’ And then, obviously, after that she started yapping, and she started to walk towards me.”
Kanter continued his story, calling out Cloud for the language she used during the incident.

“She started to use some very heavy language. She started to actually cuss, and I was very shocked,” he added. “I’m sure she’s loved in Chicago, and many kids are idolizing her and stuff, but that’s not how a WNBA athlete should react.”
Kanter Freedom has been trolling the league on social media for weeks, since the issue of transgender athletes in women’s sports re-entered the headlines. Kanter Freedom released a video mocking transgender athletes and claiming he would enter the 2027 WNBA Draft and is now identifying as a woman.
Cloud clearly had enough. After the game, she reportedly met with league security, so it will be interesting to see if the league addresses the situation and decides to prevent Kanter Freedom from attending any future games after disrupting Sunday’s action.
