Manchester City have agreed a €37.5m plus €2.5m (£34m) deal for the Palmeiras winger Allan Elias, with the club also in advanced negotiations to sell Nico González to Newcastle.
The 22-year-old Elias – known as Allan – made his senior debut for Palmeiras last year and has made 96 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and making 12 assists. He is yet to play for Brazil.
Allan’s arrival will clear the way for the sale of his countryman Savinho to Tottenham for £75m plus £10m. Spurs also want to sign City’s Omar Marmoush, with the fee for the forward expected to be £75m. While Savinho has informed Enzo Maresca he wishes to leave, City’s manager said on Friday that the Egyptian had not done so.
González is expected to be sold to Newcastle for a fee in the region of £50m, a price almost identical to the £49.8m City paid Porto for the midfielder in the January 2025 window. Newcastle are understood to be confident of signing the 24-year-old.
The money from his proposed sale may be used by City to make an official bid for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández. While Chelsea set a deadline for any offer for the midfielder of 14 August, which was not met, City may test their resolve, as the player is open to a move and a reunion with his former coach Maresca.

City have so far made only one senior signing in the window, the £116m purchase of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, but are close to sealing the €95m (£81.4m) plus €5m deal for Ayyoub Bouaddi. The Lille midfielder is thought to have undergone his medical on Monday.
City are also thought to retain an interest in Liverpool’s wide forward Cody Gakpo with Spurs also closely monitoring the Dutchman’s availability. If Liverpool sign Bradley Barcola and another winger, they may be open to Gakpo’s departure. Liverpool are pondering a third bid for Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh while they continue to talk with Paris Saint-Germain over Ibrahim Mbaye and Barcola.
