NBA 2K27 ships with DLSSNR library

NBA 2K27 has entered early access on PC, and its game files include something we have not seen shipped this way before. Renan Maniero discovered a new NVIDIA library named nvngx_dlssnr.dll, which appears to be related to DLSS Neural Rendering.
Windows identifies the file as NVIDIA DLSSNR, version 310.8.0.0. The DLL is 158 MB and carries an August 26, 2026 modification date. The DLSSNR name matches NVIDIA’s existing DLSS-NR naming for Neural Rendering.
DLSS-NR appeared in NVIDIA drivers months ago
We already reported in May that GeForce driver 610.47 added several hidden Profile Inspector entries named DLSS-NR, DLSS-NR Streamline and DLSS-NR Presets. At the time, however, there was no known DLSSNR library that users could test and the options could not be forced in games.
The NBA 2K27 file therefore appears to be the first publicly accessible DLSSNR runtime we have seen inside a released game build. NVIDIA announced DLSS 5 in March as a real-time neural rendering model, while later SIGGRAPH details confirmed that it processes conventionally rendered game output using additional engine data. Developers can control the effect by scene and even by individual objects.
The file is 3 times the size of DLSS 4
The DLSSNR library is also much larger than current DLSS 4 components. The file included with NBA 2K27 is 158 MB, while recent DLSS Super Resolution DLLs are typically around 20 to 50 MB. Ray Reconstruction and Frame Generation libraries are smaller still. This makes the new DLSSNR file roughly three times the size of the larger DLSS 4 Super Resolution builds, although it is not yet clear what accounts for the additional data.
No DLSS 5 controls in NBA 2K27 yet
There is currently no evidence that DLSS Neural Rendering can actually be enabled in NBA 2K27. The game does not expose a DLSS 5 or Neural Rendering option, and the presence of the DLL alone does not confirm that the feature is active. NVIDIA has also not publicly announced NBA 2K27 as a DLSS 5 title.
Simply replacing another DLSS DLL is unlikely to enable it because DLSS 5 relies on engine-provided data and developer-side integration, but we will see what modders can find in version 310.8.0.0.
