The New York Jets reportedly bolstered their offensive line depth ahead of Sunday’s 6 p.m. ET roster cut deadline.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the Jets acquired center Jordan Meredith from the Las Vegas Raiders via trade. Meredith started a combined 19 games for Las Vegas the past two seasons but was likely going to be in a backup role in 2026.

Las Vegas made center Tyler Linderbaum the highest-paid center in the league with a three-year, $81 million deal this offseason, so Meredith was relegated to a bench role on the depth chart.
The Raiders at least got something back in return for him by trading him ahead of the roster cut deadline, although there may not be a starting role waiting in New York either considering Josh Myers is the starting center.
Myers started all 17 games in New York last season after starting at least 16 games in each of the previous three years for the Green Bay Packers.
If nothing else, Meredith gives the Jets a backup with starting experience. He started 11 games for the Raiders in 2025, although he wasn’t especially effective.
Pro Football Focus gave him an overall player grade of 57.7 last season, which was 32nd of 40 eligible centers. Perhaps a change of scenery can help him improve as he looks to provide quality depth in New York.
