WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A tale of two rounds for the entirety of the field sees Mississippi State women’s golf in fourth place at 16-over par after the first day of the Boilermaker Classic. A pair of Bulldogs sit inside the top ten individually entering the final day of action.
 
The top five teams shot an average of 1.4-under par in the opening round, as the Bulldogs concluded the first 18 holes in first place at 1-over par. During the second round, those same five teams shot an average of 11.6-over par. Miami leads the field at even-par.
 
Alicia Bellendir made her collegiate debut on Monday and started the day on fire. The Texas native picked up four birdies throughout her first five holes. She ended the first round with her first round in the 60s with a 3-under 69. Bellendir is T12 entering the final round at 1-under.

One of the mainstays of the Bulldog roster, Avery Weed, picked up the 54th par or better round of her career on Monday, shooting a 2-under 70 to start the day. Weed now holds the record for third-most par or better rounds throughout a Bulldog career. She sits four strokes off the lead even par.
