Canada international defender Luc de Fougerolles is set to join Real Salt Lake on loan from Premier League club Fulham.
The 20-year-old will move until January, with an option to extend the arrangement through to May, which would cover the end of the shortened 2027 MLS sprint season.
De Fougerolles featured in all five of Canada’s World Cup matches, starting four, including in the co-hosts’ last-16 3-0 defeat against Morocco on July 4. It was Canada’s deepest run in the men’s World Cup.
The centre-back was born in London, England but has represented the Canadian national team since 2024, featuring 18 times for country.
De Fougerolles, who spent last season on loan at Belgian club Dender EH, made his Fulham debut in a 3–1 Carabao Cup win over Ipswich Town in November 2023 and both of his appearances for the west London club have come in that competition.
Last July, he signed a four-year contract at Craven Cottage through to 2029.
Real Salt Lake are currently 10th in the Western Conference of MLS.
