DENTON, Texas — Five unanswered goals, including four in the second half, vaulted Oklahoma (6-0-1) past North Texas (2-3-1), 6-2, Thursday, Sept. 3. Kayla Keefer paced the scoring, tallying another brace to extend her nation-leading goal total to 11.

Oklahoma 6, North Texas 2

OU started the scoring in the fourth minute as Paige Califf served a set piece into the box that Sadie Sterbenz headed in.

North Texas got the equalizer in the 19th minute and later the go-ahead goal on a penalty kick in the 34th minute.

Keefer answered with a critical equalizer only 100 seconds later, setting off OU’s five unanswered scores. The junior forward headed in a perfect cross from Claire Curran on the score, sending the game to the break even, 2-2.

Keefer put the Sooners ahead for good in the 58th minute. Narissa Fults found the fellow striker with a cross, but after Keefer’s first attempt caromed off the post she gathered and scored on the rebound.

Almost identical to Kaiser’s goal at Oklahoma State, Keefer slotted a cross to the freshman as she possessed it and hooked OU’s fourth goal off the UNT goalkeeper’s mit and in.

Curran was tackled in the box, setting Califf up for a successful penalty kick and Brenna Hallam came through with an assist with a ball in the box that bounced off the keeper and off Isabella Martinez for the sixth score.
