NEW LONDON — The Mora girls tennis team wound up winning the New London-Spicer triangular on Friday.

Mora beat NLS 5-2 and Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 4-3 to go 2-0.

Benson/KMS finished 1-1, beating NLS 6-1. NLS went 0-2.

Benson/KMS won every point against NLS except at No. 1 singles. The Wildcats’ Brooke Glauvitz beat Tara Beyer 6-0, 6-2.

Benson/KMS won by three sets at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. At No. 2, Lyla Oakes and Elizabeth Jopp defeated Ayla Werder and Lillian Finstrom 6-7 (3), 6-1, 10-1. At No. 3, Emmie Grussing and Kelsey Kalkbrenner beat Lenora Hansona nd Clara Reed 6-3, 4-6, 10-8.

A three-set win for Gracie Anderson and Mila Schultz secured a win for Mora over Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg at New London.

Anderson and Schultz beat the Braves’ Paulina Velazquez and Emmie Grussing, 6-2, 2-6, 10-5.
