HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Cornell men’s golf team sits 12th out of 14 teams through two rounds of the 10th Alex Lagowitz Memorial, hosted by Colgate at Seven Oaks Golf Club.
The Big Red posted a team score of 590 (290-300) over the par-72, 7,125-yard course. Seton Hall leads the field at 564 (278-286), with Colgate second at 571 (290-281) and Saint Joseph’s (PA) third at 576 (290-286).
Sophomore Shep Davis paces Cornell individually, sitting tied for 29th at 145 (+1) after rounds of 69 and 76. His opening-round 69 was one of the low scores of the tournament through 18 holes.
Adithya Venkataraghavan and Tyler Debusschere are tied for 35th at 147 (+3) apiece. Venkataraghavan followed a 73 with a 74, while Debusschere shot the reverse, carding a 74 and a 73.
TJ Betlow sits at 151 (+7) after adding a second-round 77 (+5) to his opening 74, putting him in a tie for 61st.
Toby Gu rounds out Cornell’s counting scores at 160 (+16), good for solo 82nd, with rounds of 81 and 79.
Playing as an individual, Javi Benerofe is tied for 47th at 149 (+5) on rounds of 73 and 76.
Colgate’s Ronav Benak leads all individuals at 138 (-6) after rounds of 69-69, with a group of eight golfers tied for third at 141 (-3), including Seton Hall’s Dylan Holmes, Luke Nolan, Isaiah Williams and Will Hennessee, Saint Joseph’s Noah Moelter, St. Bonaventure’s Reid Wilson, Colgate “B” freshman Jayden Freedman and Le Moyne’s Mac Quinn.
Cornell returns to Seven Oaks GC on Sunday for the final round of the tournament.
