(WABI) – Kara Wolters won an NCAA Championship, a WNBA Championship and a gold medal at the Olympics. Now, she’s onto her next adventure of starting her own podcast.
Her podcast focuses on life after sports for professional athletes.
In addition to interviewing athletes, her podcast includes her trying out other jobs in different states to see what she could potentially do next.
“And my good friend lives here in Maine so she said why don’t you come up here, you’ve never been here. It’s a fantastic state, lots going on. And lets do some odd jobs here,” said Wolters.
Some of those odd jobs included Poland Springs, Red’s Eats, Renewal by Anderson and more.
“So we’ve done some Maine staples and it’s just been really fun to, I usually can do the jobs that things up high that I can reach being 6, 7. Those are some of the things that I try to help with the very tall things at the businesses,” Wolters said.
“And these businesses are just very welcoming to everybody and they were welcoming to me and kind of letting me get behind the scenes and see what was going on. So the whole experience has been phenomenal. The businesses are just run really well. So I didn’t want to disturb too much because they have it down. They’re the professionals. But it’s been nothing but great people and a good time,” Wolters said.
But Wolters said that she didn’t have enough time to try everything that she wanted to in the Pine Tree state.
“So I want to come back to Maine. And I’ve heard that winter is lovely here. It can be a little much, but I heard it’s lovely. So I’d like to come back to this great state and come to some more businesses and it’s great because they get excited to have an Olympian at their place of business and Reds eats. She was telling the whole line because I guess that I didn’t know much about them, but they have a line all the time and their food is it’s for a reason. And she was telling the whole line that I was there like, oh, here’s an Olympian, a WNBA, you know, player. So Everyone was just so nice about it, and it was nice to kind of bring a little attention to the businesses, so I hope to come back and do that again,” said Wolters.
