TYRONE — Bishop Guilfoyle Academy won the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference’s Section 3 title by one stroke, 318-319, over Hollidaysburg at Sinking Valley Country Club on Tuesday in high school boys golf with an 11-1 mark in the section.

The Golden Tigers went 10-2, and BG went 2-1 against Hollidaysburg — winning one after a tiebreaker and Tuesday by one stroke.

No shot was bigger than the one from BG’s Grant Okonak, who made a hole-in-one on No. 16 and shot a 78 for the Marauders along with Troy Nachtman.

Aidan Sheehan and Carter Boland each shot 81 for BG.

Hollidaysburg got a medalist 3-under par score of 69 from Tyler Steiner and 83s from Sam McLanahan and Mason Bender.

The Golden Tigers and BG also beat Huntingdon (337), Bellwood-Antis (338) and Tyrone (357).

Tyrone got an 81 from Blake Sweitzer, and Avery Bardell carded an 82 for the Blue Devils.

Brandt Hite, Reese Hite and Ryan Aiken all carded an 81 to lift Altoona to a 428-438 win over Central at Park Hills Golf Course in high school boys golf.

Central was led by the match’s medalist, Cody Clapper, who shot 74.

Trista Cruley of Forest Hills was the medalist with a 39.
