The Los Angeles Clippers have no current plans to immediately flip Brandon Ingram and recover assets following the NBA’s massive punishment.
“I don’t think that’s anything being discussed at this moment right now,” NBA insider Jake Fischer said on Bleacher Report.
“Could they potentially do that somewhere this season or further down the line? Certainly. But I’ve been given no indication that the Clippers are actively looking to move Brandon Ingram at this period.”

After the Los Angeles Clippers absorbed the harshest punishment in NBA history for circumventing the salary cap to pay Kawhi Leonard, Brandon Ingram is still expected to join the franchise amid the pending blockbuster trade with the Toronto Raptors.
Ingram delivered a bounce-back campaign last 2025-26 season as a member of the Raptors, earning his second career All-Star honors. In 77 games, he averaged 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 47.7% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range.
Unfortunately, a late-season heel injury ruined Ingram and the Raptors. He struggled throughout the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging just 12.0 points on an awful 32.8% shooting in five games.
He underwent right heel surgery back in May after the Raptors’ opening-round loss.

The sudden discussion surrounding Brandon Ingram’s future, despite his trade not yet being made official, is part of the widespread speculation surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers after they were hit with devastating sanctions from the league.
After the Clippers were stripped of five future first-round picks from 2029 through 2033, there is now curiosity within the organization over whether a fire sale could follow.
Beyond Ingram, Darius Garland is not even safe from speculation, as a recent report suggests the franchise guard could be moved at some point due to the Clippers’ dreadful future of having no key draft assets to build around for nearly a decade.
