As the Women’s National Basketball Association‘s 30th season draws to a close, the league is giving its marquee event a facelift with a new WNBA Finals logo.
The logo was launched on Sunday, August 30 — 29 years to the day of the Houston Comets winning the league’s first-ever championship game — on the WNBA’s social media channels and has been used in graphics since promoting the upcoming playoffs. It’s a mark that the WNBA says is “a timeless identity designed to represent the league’s championship stage for years to come.”

The focal point of the logo is the new wordmark, with “FINALS” spelled out in white in a serif font and a swash emanating from the S and running underneath the whole word. The S is also shifted to the left to fill some of the negative space that would have been left by the L.
The WNBA’s orange logowoman sits on the left side of the wordmark, partially crossing over the F and the swash. The whole element has a thick black outline.

Behind the wordmark is an illustration of the WNBA championship trophy in silver, also with a black outline. Gradients appear in the basketball on top of the trophy and in one of the bars holding it up.
Below and to the right side of the wordmark, there’s space for a year to be included with the logo. For 2026, it’s depicted in orange.

Other 30th season celebrations for WNBA have included new Nike Rebel Edition alternate jerseys for all 15 teams, as well as retro jerseys for the Los Angeles Sparks, the New York Liberty and the Phoenix Mercury that replicate their looks from the league’s first season.

The 2026 WNBA regular season is currently on hiatus as players compete for their countries in the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, but it will resume on Thursday, September 17, with five games on the slate. The first round of this year’s playoffs is set to tip off on Sunday, September 27.
