KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – Christopher Bell is coming off a win at Darlington’s Cook Out Southern 500, but he is already looking ahead to Kansas Speedway.
“Kansas is basically my home track,” Bell said.
Bell sits second in the postseason standings after his first victory of the year. He said he carries that momentum into a track he knows well.
“My family comes up here, it’s a quick drive from Oklahoma City. I always have a lot of family when I come to Texas and Kansas, and Kansas I just run really well at,” Bell said.

Bell’s connection to Kansas Speedway goes back to 2017.
“2017 in the NASCAR O’Reilly’s series where I got my first win for Joe Gibbs Racing. So that was a huge staple in my career that came right here,” Bell said.
Bell said the track’s asphalt contributes to close finishes.
“Kansas is the widest of the group, so you can very easily go three-wide, you can even go four and five-wide on that front straightaway when you can get all the way to the grass. So it just really opens itself up to having very competitive restarts and very competitive racing,” Bell said.
Bell will race in the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sept. 27.
