Colorado College lost to Cal Lutheran 3-1 on Friday at William Rolland Stadium. The Tigers generated 12 shots and put six on goal, matching Cal Lutheran’s shots on goal while allowing two second-half goals. The team has achieved at least six shots on goal in three consecutive games.
First Half
– Cal Lutheran went ahead 1-0 at 12:33 when Zach Mohr scored off an assist from Liam Stoner.
– Colorado College put shots on goal from Jack Hilliard, Emmet Enriquez, and Arlo Sollinger, with Jackson Bankers saving each, before Sollinger scored from Grayson Capodanno’s assist at 32:27 to tie it 1-1.
– The final stretch included five Tigers fouls and one Cal Lutheran foul after the equalizer, while Spencer Besselaar saved Maximo Schelotto’s shot at 43:19 and Colorado College added a late shot from Wyatt Linggi before halftime.
Second Half
– Cal Lutheran moved ahead 2-1 at 50:04 when Zach Mohr scored.
– Colorado College pressed for an equalizer from 58:36 through 75:06, producing seven shots and a corner kick, including saved attempts by Teddy Opler and Whit Hynes.
– Besselaar saved Tika Kakimoto’s shot at 82:15, and the Tigers earned a corner at 83:03 during a late stretch that also included eight combined fouls.
– Mohr added a goal from a Maximo Schelotto assist at 89:49, and Cal Lutheran finished with a 3-1 win.
Sollinger scored the Tigers’ goal, recorded a match-tying goal, and put both of his shots on goal. Sollinger has scored at least one goal in two consecutive games. Capodanno recorded an assist for his point. Opler led Colorado College with four shots and added one attempt on goal. Besselaar played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with three saves.
Colorado College is 2-1-0 overall. Cal Lutheran is 2-1-1 overall.
