In a battle of Central Mass. teams, Danny Kristo scored a pair of goals to fuel Saint John’s of Shrewsbury past Leominster, 3-1.
Girls soccer
In nonleague action, Abby Sidmore scored the lone goal on a penalty kick to boost Beverly (2-0) past Billerica, 1-0.
Annie Smith scored a goal and added an assist as Apponequet defeated Middleboro, 4-1. … Mira Tanwar scored twice and Danica Tencer added two assists as Cambridge took down Woburn 3-2.
Field hockey
In nonleague play, Katelyn O’Connor had two goals as Watertown (2-1) edged Somerset Berkley 3-2.
Cross country
Billerica runners put on a show at the Clipper Relays Invitational in Newburyport. The top boys team of freshman Dylan Kane, senior Sahil Gandhi and junior Mason Niles ran to victory, defeating about 130 teams, in a time of 29:24.
The Billerica girls had teams place second and fourth out of about 100 teams. The second-place team was made up of Maya Niles, Caity Donahue and Kylie Donahue.
