PAW PAW — It was 8-0 Paw Paw over Otsego in recent tennis action.

“Paw Paw defeated Otsego by an 8-0 score, sweeping all four doubles matches in a dominant varsity performance,” coach Matt Baleja said. “The doubles sweep featured especially commanding performances from 2nd Doubles Braden Schultz/Ethan Groner and 4th Doubles Logan Wolfe/Noah Seals each winning 6-0, 6-0.
“The victory moved Paw Paw to 5-0 in the Wolverine Conference and 7-2 overall. Paw Paw is in action next on Wednesday (Sept. 13) at Three Rivers.
Paw Paw defeated Plainwell by an 8-0 score on Sept.10, sweeping all four doubles matches and controlling the varsity courts from start to finish.
At No. 1 singles, Paw Paw’s Terrance Fisher blanked Plainwell’s Sean Hoffman 6-0, 6-0. Eric Fitchpatrick added a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles, while Anderson Farnquist and Jacob Ameling each allowed only one game in wins at Nos. 3 and 4 singles, respectively.
Paw Paw’s doubles teams were just as dominant. Simon Geffre and Isaac Geffre won No. 1 doubles 6-1, 6-1, and Braden Schultz and Ethan Groner delivered the day’s most decisive result at No. 2 doubles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Jude Webster and Connor Esman also secured a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles. The win added another strong result to Paw Paw’s season. The Red Wolves move to 4-0 in the Wolverine Conference and 6-2 overall.
